As a common separation and classification equipment, the working principle of cyclone is centrifugal sedimentation. When the two-phase (or three-phase) mixture to be separated enters the cyclone at a certain pressure from the periphery of the cyclone tangentially, a strong three-dimensional elliptical strong rotational shear turbulent movement is produced. Due to the particle size difference (or density difference) between coarse particles (or heavy phase) and fine particles (or light phase), the centrifugal force, centripetal buoyancy, fluid traction and other sizes are different, by centrifugal sedimentation, most of the coarse particles (or heavy phase) are discharged through the bottom flow port of the cyclone, and most of the fine particles (or light phase) are discharged by the overflow tube, so as to achieve the purpose of separation and classification.
How to operate the cyclone
1. Before starting the test run, make sure that all the connection points of the cyclone unit have been tightened, and remove all kinds of residues in the pipeline and unit box, so that leakage and blockage occur after driving. Make sure the cyclone valve is fully open when it is put into operation.
2. The valve can be fully opened (such as running a cyclone) or completely closed (such as a backup cyclone), but it is never allowed to be in a semi-open state (that is, it is never allowed to control the flow with a valve).
3. If possible, please test the car with clean water first. The feed to the cyclone can be supplied by pumping in or in a high tank. If the pump matches the cyclone throughput, the pressure gauge displays a constant reading. To ensure that the gauge readings do not fluctuate, check the cause if there are significant fluctuations. The equipment is required to work at a pressure of no more than 0.3MPa.
4. When the equipment runs smoothly under normal pressure, check the leakage amount of the connection point and take remedial measures if necessary.
5. Check for blockages caused by residues entering the cyclone. A blockage of the cyclone inlet will reduce the overflow and grit flow, and the blockage of the cyclone grit port will reduce or even break the grit flow, and sometimes violent vibration will occur. If blockage occurs, the cyclone feeding valve should be closed in time to remove the blockage. In order to prevent blockage, facilities to prevent coarse materials and debris (such as chip removal screens) can be added to the hydrocyclone group feeding pool, and the feeding pool should be emptied in time when parking, so as to avoid blockage accidents caused by precipitation and concentration when driving again.
6. When the equipment is confirmed to be running well by the clean water test, it can be entered into slurry operation.
