Demister refers to the entrainment of a large amount of liquid in the secondary steam during the evaporation operation, and although it is separated in the separation chamber, in order to prevent the loss of useful product or contamination of the condensed liquid, it is necessary to try to reduce the entrained liquid foam, so the defoaming device is set up near the steam outlet. There are many forms of defoamers, often used forms can be installed directly on the top of the evaporator, less commonly used outside the evaporator.

National standards

HG/T21618-1998 is a replacement based on the original Ministry of Engineering standards (HG5-1404-81, HG5-1405-81, HG5-1406-81), combined with the actual experience of defoamer and the introduction of advanced technology in the device, the original three standards are combined into one standard, only divided into top-loading and bottom-loading type.
